Our Volunteers

We rely on volunteers to help with the day-to-day running of the Centre. The kind of tasks that volunteers could do include:

  • Opening / closing up the Centre when we have bookings from other organisations
  • Running the café for groups using the Centre
  • Running a hobby club
  • Running a course
  • Distributing leaflets in the local neighbourhood

The centre has two floors with wheel chair access to each.

THE GROUND FLOOR contains a cafe / meeting room which can comfortably cater for at least 8 people. There is also a photocopier available.

A well laid out and most hygienic kitchen is the source of light refreshments at very modest prices leads to the adjoining cafe with tables and chairs. Spotless toilets are on each floor.

THE UPPER FLOOR consists of a large and a smaller room for teaching or meetings, a lift and other facilities.

Anyone wishing to improve themselves whether in health or in some learning activity (or both!) should not hesitate to approach the Southwater Centre where he or she will be most welcome.

Please telephone (01424 461414) or write for a leaflet about all the activities and you too will become an enthusiastic supporter!
